Mozcation - SEOMoz top cities for 2012 - Portsmouth, NH

SEOMoz, an excellent Search Engine Optimization (SEO) resource, is having a contest for cities. The winning city will get a meetup/visit from the SEOMoz crew. A variety of factors will be used to determine a winner but basically it comes down to convincing SEOMoz that your city is the best one for them to come visit. It’s a great opportunity to make a name for your city online. I am helping, along with dozens of others, to get Portsmouth, NH noticed by SEOMoz and hopefully selected as the winning city.

Why is Portsmouth a great city to be selected? Let’s talk numbers for a moment. Take a look at the charts and graphs below.

They provide a picture of MozCation-related social media activity from all the cities across the world involved in the contest. As you can see, thanks to a strong community effort, Portsmouth is very well represented in these world-wide charts. I think it’s remarkable and certainly SEOMoz worthy!

Ready for more reasons why? Here’s some qualitative reasons and to close the deal be sure not to miss this killer video on why Portsmouth, NH is a great city for Mozcation!

  1. Great post guys! Love the charts. Also love the fact that we have the biggest slice of the pie in terms of #mozcation mentions 🙂

We hope that both you and Milwaukee get the #mozcation nomination, but realize that having the only two winners being in the U.S. may not be plausible.

So, may the “best man” win… Well, city, we guess. And well, Portsmouth seems pretty cool, but so is Milwaukee, so we’ll be a bit biased, and I hope to see you guys soon!

  2. Thanks, Regal Creative! 🙂 We appreciate the support, even if it is asterisked! 🙂 Great job on your website, too, and thanks for sharing this on your blog as well!

Allow me to be the first to invite YOU to Portsmouth if/when we win! 🙂

Thanks for the love Regal Creative- you and the rest of the Milwaukee team did a fantastic job and it would be amazing to have both Portsmouth and Milwaukee win together!

  4. Thanks for the props! Milwaukee has put on a great display of SEOMoz-omeness as well. You are always welcome in Portsmouth to celebrate!

  5. This year I’ve been having a tough time keeping up with everything with MozCon happening last week as well, so I apologize for jumping in here late!

I’m absolutely amazed at how much you guys have done in less than 2 weeks time! It means the world to us that you’d put so much work into getting us out there. 🙂 We’re meeting tomorrow to get things all figured out. Good luck to everyone!

    • Thanks, Jen!! And let me say on behalf of Portsmouth, that we would be delighted to host you and the SEOMoz team for an epic #Mozcation! I will officially bribe you with an offer of beer and dinner on us should you see fit to select Portsmouth as a winner! : )

  6. Oh! One question, I’m trying to make sure I have all the different nominations for Portsmouth. I don’t want to miss anything! Is there anyplace out there that actually has all the nominations aggregated already? If so, mind emailing it to me at jen[at]
