MozCation Portsmouth Set for Nov. 7 at The Music Hall!

MozCation-Portsmouth-2012-Music Hall

MozCation Portsmouth is officially scheduled for Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at The Music Hall, SEOMoz representatives have confirmed! The search engine optimization (SEO) meetup will take place 5 – 9 p.m. and feature at least three speakers including Rand Fishkin, CEO of SEOMoz. Update: RSVP here!

“We’re super stoked we’re going to Portsmouth!” SEOmoz’s Charlene Inoncillo wrote in an email confirming the venue and time. So are we, Charlene!

The Music Hall, at 28 Chestnut Street in the heart of downtown Portsmouth, NH, should comfortably accommodate the crowd of 200 – 500 anticipated for MozCation Portsmouth. The SEO meetup will include time for networking and drinks for about an hour prior to speakers presenting on topics related to SEO.

Speakers other than Fishkin have not been set but the list will likely include one or two SEO or social media presenters from the local area. There will also be time to hang out and enjoy after the presentations.

SEOMoz is based in Seattle and sells SEO software and support. The company also hosts one of the Internet’s largest SEO communities. MozCation is a promotional effort SEOMoz launched last year to connect with local communities that support their work and are interested in learning more about search engine optimization.

Portsmouth won SEOMoz’s MozCation contest earlier this month. The city was one of three SEOMoz chose from 17 locations across the world nominated for MozCation. More than 20 companies and organizations from Portsmouth and the surrounding Seacoast NH Area  collaborated on the effort.

SEOMoz chose winning cities based on number of tweets sent to nominate locations as well as on the creativity of content created in support of their nomination. Portsmouth’s content included this website, video, blog posts, custom images, an interactive beer-finder map, and even a letter of endorsement from Portsmouth Mayor Eric Spear.

The MozCation Portsmouth event will be free and attendance will only require an electronic RSVP ahead of time, according to SEOMoz. The company is covering all costs associated with the SEO meetup. So keep Nov. 7 clear and look for an Eventbrite signup soon!

What can I do to help and get involved?
    Looking forward to this event!

    • Hi Jenny Lynn! You can help us hype the event, contribute to our social media accounts and, hey, what do you think about maybe doing an SEO 101 series or meetup leading up to the MozCation?

Sorry Brian, I just saw this as it didn’t notify me that there was a response. I would love to help out at the event and set up etc. I can be sure to get it out on the social media channels too. Regarding the SEO presentation let’s talk more soon. I’ll be bringing some friends from Hubspot so lots of ideas 🙂
